Community access

Get out, connect and enjoy life

Community Access can help you get out and about, spend time doing things you enjoy and take part in the places, activities and experiences that matter to you.

What is Community Access?

Support to get involved

Community Access is about helping you participate in everyday life outside the home.

That might mean attending local activities, joining a group, trying something new, seeing friends, going shopping or getting to appointments and events.

The focus is on helping you be part of your community in a way that feels comfortable, enjoyable and right for you.

Support can include

What this can look like

Out and about, in your way

Social connections

Spend time with friends, meet new people and take part in activities built around shared interests.

Try new things

Explore new hobbies, events and experiences at a pace that feels comfortable.

Get where you want to go

Receive help with transport to activities, appointments, shopping and other places in the community.

Your interests, your choice

You choose how you spend your time and the kinds of activities you want to be part of.

Be part of your community

Take part in local events, groups and activities that help you feel connected to the places around you.

More than an outing

It’s about feeling connected

Community Access can be as simple as getting out for coffee or as involved as joining a regular group, attending an event or trying a new activity.

What matters is that the experience feels worthwhile to you.

We work with your interests, confidence and goals to help you take part in the community in ways that feel comfortable and meaningful.

Support that works for you

Make more room for the things you enjoy

No two people want the same things from their time in the community.

You might want to build confidence in social settings, get back into an old hobby, discover somewhere new or simply have more opportunities to get out of the house.

Depending on your interests, Community Access might include:

We shape the way we work around what you actually enjoy, rather than filling your week with activities that do not interest you.

The benefits

More connection, confidence and choice

Getting out into the community can create opportunities to meet people, build skills, grow in confidence and spend more time doing things that add something positive to your week.

At True Colours, the starting point is always the individual. We want to understand what you enjoy, what you would like more of and what might be getting in the way at the moment.
